The National Coalition for Aviation and Space Education (NCASE) represents government, industry, and aviation and space special interest groups united to promote aviation and space education activities and resources; increase public understanding of the importance of aviation and space education; and support educational initiatives at the local, state, national, and international levels.
In 1995, NCASE established the Dr. Mervin K. Strickler, Jr. Aerospace Education Leadership Award to honor Dr. Stickler and recognize individuals or organizations that share his personal commitment and lifelong contributions to aerospace education. Dr. Strickler promoted aerospace education for more than 60 years and continues to be considered the “Father of Aerospace Education.”
Candidates may include organizations and/or individuals who have demonstrated outstanding aviation and space education leadership over an extended period of time (8 years or more) through a noteworthy achievement and/or made significant contributions to the aerospace field.
These achievements need to be demonstrated having a national (multiple states) or international impact or scope.
Nominations must be documented and have the approval of the candidate. The candidate must agree to be present for the award ceremony if chosen for the award. Nominations should substantially address ALL listed areas and criteria. Electronic submissions via the Google Nomination Form are required.
